Our Bus Story

This bus is more than a build. It’s our home, our passion, and our story.

We’re a full-time bus family living in a 1985 MCI coach bus that Chris converted completely by hand. From the frame up, he built this bus into a cozy, rolling tiny home where we live year-round with our tiny chihuahua, Dolly.For about nine months of the year, we’re stationary at our own land—“Busport”—a slice of Alabama pinewoods where we live and work from full-time. The rest of the year, we roam.

The Build

Steel, sweat, and stubborn love.

Chris built this bus from the ground up. From the bare steel frame to the final coat of paint, he poured every ounce of skill, grit, and love into transforming this 1985 MCI coach into a rolling home.

When we say we built it from the ground up—we mean it. Nearly everything inside our bus was secondhand, salvaged, or repurposed. We kept our budget small and our creativity big.Our cabinets? Pulled from a retired lab at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Our record nook? Once a hall tree, now a vibe. Even our biggest splurge—our Belphin modular couch—was a well-earned comfort.And the deal of the build? Two 8-foot butcher block counters for just $40.This bus is proof you don’t need a massive budget to build something beautiful—you just need vision, hustle, and a little bit of heart.
